Supervising Attorney
Seth Goodman Park
Seth is a lawyer and the owner of GoodmanPark Law, PLLC, a firm focused primarily on humanitarian-based immigration matters. Seth has handled immigration matters pro bono on behalf of multiple organizations, including HIAS, the Safe Passage Project, and the Immigration Justice Campaign. He was also a volunteer lawyer at the New Sanctuary Coalition.
Program Manager
Sherri Levine
Prior to joining ASC in July 2023, Sherri was the Executive Director of Kolot Chayeinu/Voices of Our Lives, a Brooklyn-based progressive synagogue for six years, and the Associate Director of Fordham Law School’s Stein Center for Law and Ethics before that. Earlier in her professional life, Sherri worked as a union-side labor lawyer in NYC.

Karen Del Aguila
Originally from Guatemala, Karen has been engaged for more than a decade in working to expand access to health care, education and economic opportunities for both people in Guatemala and vulnerable individuals in the U.S. with numerous organizations, including Economic Development for a Sustainable Guatemala; and Worker’s Justice Project.
Steering Committee Members
Coco Fusco
Coco is a Cuban-American interdisciplinary artist and writer. She is a recipient of multiple fellowships and awards and her performances, interactive installations and videos have been presented in many biennials and festivals around the world. She is the author and/or editor of several publications and is a professor at the Cooper Union School of Art.
Nancy Goldhill
Nancy is a retired lawyer who spent most of her career working at Legal Services offices assisting poor and low-income people, including many immigrants. She was a volunteer attorney with the New Sanctuary Coalition, helping immigrants apply for asylum.
Basbibi Kakar
Basbibi works at Rutgers Presbyterian Church as the program officer for immigration and is ASC’s liaison with Rutgers. Basbibi was born in Afghanistan and has volunteered to help Afghan refugees in the United States since 2017. She has a master’s degree in international affairs from Columbia University.
Amy Kantrowitz
Amy has two decades of experience working with startup NYC nonprofit organizations as staff, board member, consultant, and volunteer. From 2020-2021, she managed New Sanctuary Coalition’s volunteer programming, after volunteering for several years in both program and fundraising roles.
Nancy Muirhead
Nancy is counsel and corporate secretary at the Rockefeller Brothers Fund. Nancy was the volunteer attorney coordinator and worked as a volunteer lawyer at the New Sanctuary Coalition and is on the steering committee of the Refugee Employment Partnership.
Michael Onah
Michael is a Staff Attorney in the Legal Aid Society’s Parole Revocation Defense Unit. He was previously a death penalty habeas attorney at Phillips Black, Inc., and an adjunct professor at St. John’s University School of Law. He was also a volunteer lawyer at the New Sanctuary Coalition.
